The project site will be located in the Mediterranean region in the vicinity of Ağzıdelik, Alifakı, Baharlı, Ballıca, Çatalca, Hacıbozan, Kocaköy, Nemiroğlu, Zübeyir, Yüksekköy Villages of Tarsus District of Mersin Province. A part of the brine discharge pipeline to be included in the Project is located within the borders of Tabaklar Village of Karataş District of Adana Province. The direct distance of the site selected for the proposed Project is 11.5 km from the Tarsus district, 36 km from Mersin city center and 28 km from Adana city center.
The closest and most convenient water source to the Project Site is the Seyhan River and the length of the pipeline from the water intake station where the water required for the formation of kaverna is received to the melting station to be installed in Ballıca Station is approximately 19.5 km. The length of the brine discharge line from Ballıca Compressor and the Melting Station to the Mediterranean Sea is approximately 22 km (the part to extend within the sea is approximately 1.5 km).
Planned site of the kaverna for the project is located 4.5-5 km south of Adana-Mersin (D 400) highway. The surface area of the said project is approximately 113,000 m2 (also considered are the Kocaköy Station Area, the discharge chimney areas thereof, the proposed kaverna Inlet-Outlet areas and the Water Intake Station planned to be jointly used with Toren Natural Gas Warehouse and Mining Inc., and BOTAŞ Pig Station).
